KHPPU Business Network Lunch 2023 – "The Interview"

What a day it was! We are still reminiscing about the phenomenal KHPPU Business Network Lunch 2023 themed "The Interview" that recently graced us. On behalf of the KHPPU committee, I would like to extend our deepest gratitude to all past pupils, friends, and patrons who made time to join us on this exceptional day. Your continued support and enthusiasm towards our events creates an atmosphere of camaraderie that is second to none.

This year's event was particularly engaging and entertaining, thanks in no small part to our esteemed guests of honour, Leinster and Ireland International, Andrew Porter, and team manager and accomplished businessman, Mick Kearney. Your stories, insights, and openness added a unique layer of depth to our gathering.

We owe a great deal of our success to our gifted guest interviewer, RTE’s Hugh Cahill. Hugh, your ability to strike a fine balance between humour and profound questioning, your natural knack for making our guests feel at ease, was commendable. The insights you teased out from Andrew and Mick about the management style under Andy Farrell, the dressing room's reaction at halftime against Scotland, and the unique bond between the team, were nothing short of extraordinary.

A special mention must go to Andrew Porter, who candidly spoke about his dynamic position as both a loose and tighthead prop. It was enlightening for all of us to gain an insider's view into such a nuanced aspect of the game. Moreover, your humble and approachable demeanor off the stage was a testament to your character. Thank you, Andrew, for generously taking the time to pose for photographs with our guests. These moments have been immortalised and can be relished by everyone here.

Lastly, we must express our gratitude to Mick Kearney, whose insights into balancing his roles in rugby and business were both enlightening and inspiring. It was fascinating to hear about the strategic overlap between leading a business and managing the team, a perspective we don't often get to hear.

To our past pupils and friends, we can't emphasise enough how much we appreciate your continued support. The success of events like this hinges on your participation, and we are forever grateful. As we look towards the future, we are excited for many more engaging events like this one.
