Past Pupil to Perform in Paris

For those living or travelling to France in July this is an event to add to your diary. Join award winning concert organist and 1994 past pupil Simon Harden as he performs at Notre Dame de Paris on the 16th July.

The programme is as follows:

Petr Eben (1929-2007)  Moto Ostinato  (de Musica Dominicalis)
César Franck (1822-1890) Prélude, Fugue et Variation Op. 18
Jehan Alain (1911-1940) Trois Danses :   Joies   Deuils  Luttes


Simon is an accomplished and award winning organist. After leaving KH Simon studied at Trinity College Dublin reading Music and History of Art. At this time he began to learn the organ which encouraged him to further his studies at the Music Academies in Berlin where he earned a first-class Postgraduate degree in performance in 2004. Simon then went on to study for a further two years in Paris where he gained a ‘Premier Prix’ in 2006. Following his studies in Paris, Simon went on to earn the highest award for performance in Germany, the Konzertexamen. He has also won first prize and audience prize at the ‘International Schnitger Organ Competition’ in Alkmaar, Holland 2007 and in October 2006 2nd prize at the Swiss International Organ Competition ‘Grand Prix Bach de Lausanne’

Simon's schedule for 2016 includes performances in Germany and Japan.
